The Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) is an annual, state-based, random-digit-dial telephone survey that collects data from non-institutionalized U.S. adults regarding health conditions and risk factors. It serves as a primary source of data on the prevalence of ACEs among adults, and since 2009, 32 states plus the District of Columbia have collected ACEs survey data.
